1. Use your home page as a billboard. Website visitors glance, scan, and click and view your site as if they were driving by a billboard at 65 mph. If users demand great billboards than give them what they want. 2. Be sure to have Clear and Concise Navigation. Establish your link bar or the navigation part of your website on the home page and be consistent through out the site with it. Don't make it too hard for the user to get around. Users want to be able to find what they are looking for with ease and this all starts at the navigation bar.

3. Content is KING. While it is important that your website looks clean, up-to-date and professional, it is far more essential that you concentrate your efforts on the content. Content is not just a bunch of pictures but rather useful, helpful, interesting and even captivating information for your target audience.

4. Provide pdf downloads and other printable materials for your user. When you have lengthy articles and manuals or charts it is always a good idea to have a option for the user to download and save or print for later, and a PDF file is the perfect format to use. Try to avoid posting .publisher files and other such program files your visitor might not have the necessary program to open and view these files.

5. Be sure to optimize for search engines. It is no good to have a billboard in the dessert, and that is what you can be if not listed on search engines for your potential users to find you. So when you are creating or updating your web site you should always keep search engines in mind. Provide plenty of information on the services or products you offer and be sure to reinforce your key points in your meta tags and alt tags on each page.
